Yao Ming and NBA game

Sorry that were not throwing out new entries, but we have a lot to do. This weekend we went to Austin, will make post on this later. Last Sunday we went to the Toyota Center to see a NBA game, between Houston Rockets and Atlanta Hawks. Since Peng has some contacts in the chinese Triad(mafia) he got us tickets to a picture shoot with Yao Ming, who plays for the Houston Rockets(He is also quite tall!). This photoshoot was arranged by the Yao Ming-fanclub. And we didn't understand much of what they were saying(since 99,7% were chinese!!!)! So it was a quite absurd! The game consisted of 1 hour of effective basketball and 1,5 hours of cheerleaders, dancing mascots, teacher of the month and veterans from the vietnam war. Here's some pictures:

Free concert with Panic at the disco, Kings of Leon and Ludacris

Because of the final four(semifinals and final in college basket in the US) in Houston, Coca Cola had arranged a free concert in Discovery green, which is a big park located downtown next to Toyota Center. Some said it would be a lot of people and total chaos, but Christian and I took a ride downtown to check it out. We found a parking garage for just 5$ and just had to walk 2 blocks. We got into the park in 2 minutes and went right to see one hour of Panic at the disco. Ludacris wasn't performing himself, only hosting. The last band was Kings of Leon. Awesome concert! And no stress with the crowd!

American food

Since we're in the US we try to live as the Houstonians. We drive everywhere and eat food all the time! We also try to taste some american delicacies, like Pop Tarts! Take a look at some other US delicacies:
Jack in the Box

Oreo cake

Small 6$ meals at Chillies

Small salad on the left at Chillies

Norwegian export

Breakfast before we found some eatable bread with less than 29% sugar

Ranch meal

Shopping HEB

Drive-through in Houston

Jack in the box and Pei Wei asian takeout

Corn dog. Hot dog wrapped in pastry and deep fried. (We all agreed that it was most terrible thing we had ever tasted!)

Caffeine free diet Coke, what's the point?

We just had to buy one of these. Pizza AND Cookies.

Rice University

We also have a course at Rice university during these months. 3 hours a week. The University is ranked among the top 20 universities in the US. The campus is pretty nice, not like Blindern! :)
